Occasionally someone uses the original formula on highlighted hair or grey hair ... and the highlights turn slightly golden. Not to worry you are seeing where the vitamin C in the formula has oxidized producing the unwanted color shift.  This color fades by itself in a few days or you can shampoo with a violet based shampoo to "brown out" the unwanted golden tone. Rule #1 Adding heat increases the desired improvement result with most hair treatments

• the most controllable & cost effective method to add heat is a Heat Cap
• second choice would be a salon dryer or a bonnet type hair dryer
• third there are some "wrap around your head" - microwaveable hair caps
• hot towels wrapped around your head
• sitting in the sun
• trying a product that does "not require heat" note these often works better if you do apply heat.

If you want to try first without heat - please do but we find for the most effective removal of hard water minerals heat is important.

1. Shampoo your hair twice and rinse.
2. You get a Malibu Makeover kit. Empty the Malibu makeover treatment envelope into 2oz of hot water. Stir  or shake and let gel for 1 or 2 minutes.
3. Pour the mixture onto your hair and using your hands work into your hair from scalp to ends.
4. Cover with a plastic processing cap
5. Add heat if you have it. We like the Heat Cap for both ease of use and the silence.
6. Wait at least 10 minutes  with heat (20 minutes without heat ) then rinse.
7. Condition, rinse and dry.

For best results, pour crystals into wet palm, then rub wet palms together to form a rich gel. Apply to hair turns to from a lathering treatment. Work through your hair as you would your shampoo.
