Well Water Hard Water:   Over 85% of the population in the U.S. (Water Quality Association numbers), are bathing with and drinking well water or hard water of some variety.

In your home you can either treat all the water that comes into the house (with a water softener) or, for your hair, you can use, a conditioner and shampoo for hard water applications. The best type of shampoo to use for hard water is the Malibu hard water shampoo. This three step, Malibu  product line,  is specifically designed to help hair exposed to well water and hard water on a daily basis.

Think of minerals deposited in your hair as hair rocks, weighing down the hair and even changing the hair color. The thought of little rocks weighing down fine hair is definitely seen as unwanted. Fine hair needs all the help it can get to stand up all by itself. The answer as above is to not put the rocks in the water or remove them once thy come out of the faucet and cling to the hair.

This is even more important if you have chemically treated hair (use hair color, perm or straighten your hair) because those processes open the cuticle layer of the hair and make your hair a more effective "rock catcher."

Fortunately the answer is simple and comes in three(3) parts, or levels that you can adjust to the needs of your hair.

  1. Remove any build up at least monthly with a thorough removal product (Malibu Makeover)
this removal treatment can be used weekly & is a big help when used before a color or perm service
  2. use a weekly maintenance treatment (takes less time & easier than step #1) (Hard Water Treatment)
  3. help prevent build up daily (Malibu Well Water Shampoo & Conditioner)

EC Mode, Malibu Well Water product line, is designed specifically for this task. They include Malibu Well Water Shampoo, Conditioner, weekly treatment and the Malibu Makeover.

You can do well water testing to determine the level of hardness in your water, or you can treat your hair for hard water or well water and judge the hair improvement for your self. Testing well water gives you a hardness number that may be of use to  help you determine if you want to install a water softener. We know that 85% of the time we you dealing with hard water so it is more efficient to just assume we have hard water and use the products that deal with the problems related to your hair.
